Tenth Muse Productions in cooperation with the Kent State University Theatre Department will present "Uncommon Women and Others" on March 25, 26 and 27, 1982. The play about five women as different as colors in a rainbow as they struggle to achieve and remain individuals.

was written by Wendy Wasserstein and is directed by Patti Whipple. The play explores the joys, dreams and desires of five women graduates of a 7 Sisters college 6 years later. Curtain time is 8:00 p.m. at the WrightCurtis Theatre, Music and Speech Bldg. on the KSU campus. Tickets are $3.50 Thursday night, $4.50 Friday and Saturday. There is a $1 discount for students, senior citizens and children 12 and under. Phone reservations now being accepted at 1-672-2497.

On April 3, the Tenth Muse will present "Bosom Buddies in concert. Marci Marxer and Karrie Potter perform a variety of music in many ditferent styles. An evening of "foot stompin' fun and entertainment'' is in store Tickets are $3.50 in advance and $4.00 at the door. The concert will be at 1456 E. Summit Street in the Church Building near the intersection of E. Summit St. and Rhodes Rd.

On April 25, Margie Adam will be presented in concert at the Kent State University Auditorium. Tickets are $6, $7 and $8.

The Tenth Muse Coffeehouse will present Poetry Night on March 20. Over 12 poets from Cleveland. Akron and Kent will read some of their favorite poems. Doors open at 8:00 and a $1 donation is requested The Muse is located at 202 N. Lincoln, Kent, behind Hillel House.

Commonworks will soon present two evenings of music. On March 19, the group will present the labor music of Joe Hill: The Man, His Music and His Movement, the world premiere of an original multimedia presentation by Todd Smith, a local artist and musician, and member of Commonworks. The evening will be at 2432 Edgehill Road, Cleveland Heights, beginning at 7:30 p.m. with coffee, tea and dessert. The program begins at 8:00.

On April 23, "Sing Dut! Song Fest". one of last year's favorite Commonworks evenings, will be repeated. Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite song and teach it to the group. There will also be some songsheets printed. For more information, call 932-2753.

The film ''Rosie the Riveter will be shown as the Forum Event for the CSU Women's Comprehensive Program on Tuesday, March 9, at 6:00. The film and a panel discussion will take place in the International Room in the basement of University Center, Cleveland State University. Admission is free.

The National Women's Martial Arts Federation is sponsoring the Sixth Annual Special Training for Women, June 10, 11, 12 and 13, 1982, in Provincetown, Mass. Special classes in all areas of martial arts instruction wil be taught during the four-day training camp by many of the top women Black Belts in the U.S. Cost for participation is $136 per person. which covers all classes, seminars, food and lodging on scenic Cape Cod Bay. On Our Own, an independent production company in Columbus interested in promoting the various talents of women in the visual and performing arts, is planning an evening of non-profit entertainment with an anticipated date set for mid-May. They need poetry and short writing that will be produced into a play, plus people who would like to exhibit their art, crafts and/or photography, and of course, performers and volunteers. Opportunities

A volunteer training program in counseling, advocacy, and community referral for women is being offered by the WomenSpace Helpline. WomenSpace volunteers operate the Helpline weekdays (9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.) and Saturdays (9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). They provide emotional support. make referrals in a variety of areas-including divorce. discrimination, abuse and health care-and do follow-up with clients. Helpline volunteers have the opportunity to learn new skills. work in a supportive environment and provide a critical community service for women in the Cleveland area. The Womyn's Braille Press, Inc. is interested in locating qualified Braille transcribers around the country. The Volunteer Projects component of Women Together, Inc. is conducting an on-going volunteer recruitment campaign to better serve battered women. Women Together needs volunteers in the areas of childcare. crisis-line phone service, support group facilitation, direct service counseling, and public speaking. Requirements are that volunteers be sensitive to the needs of women, particularly battered women. Ex: perience is helpful, but not mandatory. We offer training in each area of service. Several women in the Cleveland area are currently discussing collective living from a feminist perspective. The purpose is to understand the political and personal aspects. identify our individual priorities in living situations, and determine whether we want to live together collectively. Fairmount Theatre of the Deaf is being honored by The Girl Scouts through development of a patch specifically designed for FTD. In celebration of the Girl Scouts' 75th anniversary, FTD will present a series of performances and workshops which will be a part of each Girl Scout's requirements in receiving the patch. Women who are blind can now have access to feminist literature through the Womyn's Braille Press, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
